Optic Illuminator
Many machine vision applications require ultra-stable light output. All SP-MVMD Series Illuminators provide such stabilization in an innovative and unique manner. Each illuminator essentially contains two separate power supplies. The first power supply is specifically designed for maximum efficiency (minimum internal power losses) and accomplishes this by precluding any phase shift between the voltage and current. The second power supply takes the output of the first supply and eliminates the remaining “ripple” frequency in order to ensure that the resulting light output is stable to within +/- 0.5%. This technique provides a superior solution to typical simple DC regulated power circuits that will exhibit greater ripple and less efficiency.
