The new 360 View™  Tube Weld SIGHT-PIPE® allows inspectors to view the entire circumference of the internal welded bead at the same time without rotating the SIGHT-PIPE® or welded component .

Shown below are step by step images from the top of the SIGHT-PIPE® head as the SIGHT-PIPE® is slowly lowered into the tube and down to the weld area.

To help you better understand the view you are seeing we have highlighted edges of the the images with different colors. The weld bead top edge is red while the weld bead bottom edge is accented in blue. The green edge is the outside viewing diameter of the SIGHT-PIPE head, while the yellow edge highlights the non-viewing SIGHT-PIPE® thread area. The very center yellow diameter is the thread on the SIGHT-PIPE® shank ID which is necessary to attach the pilot to the SIGHT-PIPE®.

Top of the weld bead edge  (outlined in red) begins to appear as the SIGHT-PIPE® tip begins to move towards the top of the weld. The blue outline represents the bottom of the bead edge which is not being imaged in this position. The darker area between the red & yellow edges is the sidewall of the tube that has not been welded above the bead. The entire viewing "donut" is filled with the complete weld bead image.  Both the red top of the weld   edge and the  blue bottom edge can be seen completely. Moving the SIGHT-PIPE® slightly up or down in the tube from this point will allow you to see either the top, bottom, or center of the entire bead accented in the viewing head. The top of the weld bead shrinks & "disappears"  into the center diameter and the bottom edge of weld bead follows, as the SIGHT-PIPE®  is moved lower into the tube. The darker area between the blue & green edges is the sidewall of the tube that has not been welded below the bead. The bottom edge of weld appears smaller as the SIGHT-PIPE® is moved lower in the tube and the imaging area of the shank moves way from the weld.
